A voucher code is a short code (ABC123 for example) that enables you to make additional savings on your internet shopping. These codes are often advertised in magazines, email newsletters or increasingly issued to us directly from the retailers. These codes act as an incentive for you to make a purchase with a retailer.
Most commonly a voucher code will offer a fixed discount or a percentage off your total order value (i.e. £10 off or 10%). Alternatively a voucher code may offer free delivery or even a free gift.
How do I use voucher codes?
A voucher code should be entered at the final stage of your purchase, often referred to as the checkout stage. Carefully type the code into the 'Promotional code' box (circled in red on the example below) and click on the update button to see the discount applied to your order (circled in green).
Please note that each retailer has a different checkout procedure and it may not look exactly like the one shown below. In most cases the area to add the voucher code is clearly labeled however on occasions you may have to do a little searching!
Where can I find voucher codes?
The Money Saving Discounts website lists thousands of voucher codes for hundreds of UK retailers. The chances are that if a retailer issues voucher codes then they are listed here. As many voucher codes have a short life span we advise all of our visitors to register for our free weekly newsletter. You can also keep up to date with the latest discounts by visiting the new discounts page or subscribing to our free RSS feed.
Can I submit a discount that I've found?
Voucher codes can often be found in national newspapers, retailer emails and in traditional advertising material. If you've come across a code that is not listed on the MSD site please click here to submit it to our team and we'll add it to the site so others can benefit too.
Are there any restrictions on using voucher codes?
The majority of the codes listed on the MSD site have been issued to us directly from the retailers. These codes are available to the general public and are free to use by anyone. Where there are any additional conditions we will always try to list these alongside the code (for example a discount may only apply to new customer). We also recommend that all members check any additional terms and conditions listed on the retailers website.
As Money Saving Discounts is a community based site we actively encourage our members to get involved. Some of the discounts listed on our site have been submitted directly to us by our members. Although we always check that the codes are valid we cannot always trace the origin of these codes and therefore cannot make any guarantees. In cases like this we will normally display a short warning alongside the code.
